Frank Cervantes is a singer/songwriter who resides in Collingswood, NJ. A South Jersey native, Frank has been a constant presence in the Tri-State music scene for the past 12 years. The bedroom in which Frank Cervantes grew up was a breeding ground for musical creativity. Frank and his friends would get together to jam, craft songs, and experiment in recording.
Most of his recordings were intended for his band at the time called Just Like Me, but a lot of additional music was made for his own solo project as well as several collaborations with friends. Eventually the musical partnerships that started in that space transitioned out of the bedroom and into the local music scene. In 2009, Cervantes got his first breaks as frontman and primary songwriter for an indie progresssive four piece called The Once Was. The band toured nationally, and gave Frank his first radio play as a songwriter. As of today Frank has had 18 songs featured on NPR radio both as a solo artist and with the groups The City Music Project and Retroglyphs.
Recently Frank has been focusing on his 80s inspired retrowave project called Retroglyphs. Music by the project has been featured on New Retro Wave, We Rule Nation, and Pyrrhic Victory Records.
Frank‘s performance at Songbyrd will include both acoustic and electronic music spanning his 12 year songwriting career.
